Ken Wilson, a NC licensed real estate broker, contractor, home inspector and
beef producer and his wife Brenda reside in Olin, NC. Married for 42 years,
they have 2 sons and three grandchildren. Ken was educated in the Iredell
County School system, graduated from Appalachian State University and earned
his Ed.D at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Recently
retired, Ken served the citizens of Iredell County as a teacher, coach,
principal and central office staff member for over 40 years at Harmony
Elementary, Cool Springs Elementary and North Iredell High School.
Wilson was selected as Iredell County's Wachovia Principal of the Year in
1993 and while at Cool Springs test scores rose to state exemplary status.
Ken has been recognized by the superintendent and Board of Education for his
service as school system-wide United Way Coordinator and United Way Board
Member.
As a Civitan, Wilson served as Governor of North Carolina District West,
which is the largest district in Civitan International. He was president and
a charter member of Cool Spring Ruritan Club and a charter member of the
Iredell Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity and Keep Iredell
Clean (KIC) Organization. He is a member of Iredell County Master Gardner's,
Harmony Masonic Lodge 299, Iredell County and State Cattleman's Associations
and the First Baptist Church of Statesville.
